— A New Year’s Reflection —
The Age of Harmony
At last, 2026 has begun.
Until now, we have often measured the world through opposites—
good and evil, positive and negative, winning and losing,
black and white, wealth and poverty, male and female…
By using these divisions as our standards of value,
what have we ultimately gained?
Perhaps, in many ways, it has led to conflict.
But that era is now coming to a close,
and we are stepping into something new.
From here on, we will live in the Age of Harmony.
Harmony means that everything is held together in a balanced and natural way.
Each individual shines brightly in their own uniqueness,
and yet, together, we form a beautiful unity.
And the next measure of value for us will be love.
The essential question will be:
“Is there love here?”
Through the works I will continue to write,
I hope to explore this idea of love more deeply than ever before.
I would be honored if you would join me on this journey,
gently, at your own pace.
To all those companions who will help create this new era together,
with love,
Hisami Shirahama
Hi, I'm Hisami Shirahama.
I'm a storyteller who finds magic in everyday moments.
In September 2024, I had the joy of publishing my first picture book "Kagayaku Moyamoya" (Shining Haze) with Bungei-sha publishing house.
My writing springs from life's simple wonders – those little moments that spark inspiration and make my heart want to tell stories. Here, you'll find a collection of my creative journey through words and photographs, each piece carrying a fragment of the world as I see it.
Think of this space as your cozy reading nook, where you can pause, reflect, and perhaps discover a spark of brightness to carry with you.

Where did we really come from…? Who are we, really?
I’ve woven into a story the answers I found to these questions that lived in my heart, the truths I discovered along the way. I’ve created many interactive elements so that both young children and adults can enjoy the experience through various senses – through pictures, words, sounds, and colors.

Writer's voice
For many of us, managing our emotions can feel like a big challenge.
One thing that can really help is understanding the essence of who we are.
Inside each of us, there are two overlapping parts: the ego (our sense of self) and the essence (our higher self).
When we learn to recognize the traits of both, and can say, “Ah, this is my ego at work!”,
handling our emotions becomes a little easier—at least, that’s what I’ve experienced.
In “The Untangled Thread” , I share a brief explanation of how our ego and essence show up in our daily lives.
I hope it can offer some gentle guidance or new insights for you ♪
