From the moment
I realized the limits of myself,
my consciousness began
to open wide.
It was the limit of my ego.
That day
the day I found myself thinking,
“This isn’t how it was supposed to be.”
It felt like denying the “me”
I worked so hard to build until then,
And it terrified me.
My mind and heart
had become completely rigid,
aching wherever I tried to move them.
I had no choice
but to accept the painful reality
that perhaps this was what happens
when we try to find our own way
without truly understanding ourselves.
Little by little,
I gently loosened
my mind and heart,
and placed a compress of gratitude
over them.
Things, memories, assumptions, emotions, attachments
I patiently continued
to let them go.
I put what I had learned
into action,
and worked each day
to change the way I lived.
There were times
when it hurt a little.
And yet,
even as my circumstances
slowly began to improve,
the habit of making myself small,
of thinking,
“I’m still not enough,”
was not so easy to let go of.
Even so,
as I kept going
with patience and perseverance,
the need to compare myself to others,
the urge to criticize,
anger, sadness, frustration,
loneliness, self-loathing,
old patterns of thought
all of them
slowly weakened,
grew fainter,
and before I knew it,
they disappeared.
Until I no longer felt it at all…
My consciousness
began to grow
wider,
broader,
higher,
and clearer.
A journey
that felt so long,
yet passed
in the blink of an eye.
I am still somewhere along the way.
And yet,
here I am now,
standing in a place
with such a beautiful view.
I want to go back
and tell my past self, the one who suffered
that one day,
I would be standing
in a place like this.
I can feel it now
when we truly desire something,
the source of the soul
will always answer.
The earth is magnificent.
From a single seed,
it nurtures a plant
into all that it is capable of becoming.
Human beings are the same as the earth.
Each of us is given a seed called life,
and we have the role
of allowing that life
to blossom to its fullest potential.
We, as human beings,
have the ability
to awaken and bring into bloom
the deeper essence of who we are
the part of us
that exists beyond the ego.
The source of the soul
is waiting,
from the depths of its being,
for us to transform.
So that I may allow
the light of this life
to shine without limit,
I want to keep
rising and expanding myself.
That’s what
I find myself believing, now.
